History about sanga

Among the four renowned valleys of Kathmandu Sanga is one of the main  entry point situated in Kavrepalanchowk District in the eastern side.  Renowned as the main entry point for the district it is situated at the distance of 21 km far from kathmandu and about 9km far from Dhulikhel (headquarter of Kavrepalanchowk district) with the area of about 9.18 sq. km. This Nasikasthan V.D.C is sorrounded by different V.D.Cs. on the east of sanga or nasikasthan vdc there is Ugratara VDC in the east. Bhaktapur district in the west. Mahendra Jyoti VDC, Kusadevi and Ryaley  in the south. And Tukucha, Nala and Chitapole in the north. sanga is situated at the height of about 1480 to 2850 above the sea level with steep land. The season of this place is cooler and the temperature is about 2ŸC to about 34ŸC. among the 12 months mostly about 7 months remain cooler.
            Mostly the occupation of the people of this vdc are based on Agriculture. Beside the agriculture people are also engaged in the activities like horticulture, animal husbandary sanga is also famous for Titaura production.



The name Sanga is said to be kept with the various reasons. There seems to be different story for the name Sanga. Through the composition of the temple NASHIKASTHAN and Sanga the name of this Nasikasthan VDC is kept. If we go through the historical and religious concept the word Sanga gives the different meaning. The Newars of Sanga calls Cow as “SAN” in their own Newari language. Similarly the cow shed is said as “GA”. So the place is famous as cow’s shed and the combination of the words SAN and GA formed the complete word SANGA. In the religious book among th 64 shiva lings the Bikteshwor Temple or Bikteshwor Shiva Lings of sanga is also mentioned as the 8th shiva lings.
